Feedback Machine

Eliminating acoustic feedback from a sound system is not an uncommon problem facing sound designers. This pesky squealing noise occurs when outputs from a system are fed back as inputs, which creates a cause-and-effect chain reaction. This never ending loop is what creates the all too familiar sound of feedback.

Feedback Machine is a program that investigates the ability to control feedback and turn it into something musical, or better yet, beautiful. Users interacting with the program utilize their voice, laptop microphone, and loudspeaker to control, play, and explore not only the audio processing within the computer, but also how the physical space around the laptop changes and affects the sound.
